Riveting Press: An Introduction to the Riveting Press

Release date:

2021-08-09

Rivets may seem unassuming in everyday life, yet they are widely used across society. From aerospace and aviation to office equipment, electronics, and even playground facilities—and even extending to items like leather bags and fashion accessories—rivets play a crucial role in countless applications. As society continues to evolve, press riveting machines have become increasingly diverse in design and functionality. Press riveting machines are primarily used for joining solid rivets, hollow rivets, and other types of fasteners. The solid end of a rivet can be shaped into either a flat head or a mushroom head, while hollow rivets can be crimped to create a flared effect.

Rivets may seem unassuming in everyday life, but they are widely used across society. From aerospace to office machinery, electronics and amusement park equipment—and even from leather bags to high-fashion garments—rivets play a crucial role in countless applications. As society continues to evolve, Riveting Press It's becoming increasingly diverse.

Riveting presses are primarily used for joining solid rivets, hollow rivets, and other types of fasteners. The end of a solid rivet can be riveted into either a flat head or a mushroom head, while hollow rivets can be rolled to create a flared effect.

Riveting Press Often used to join sheets and rivets, this process typically employs special riveting nuts. By applying pressure, the nut and screw are securely fastened to the sheet. It’s widely applied in applications such as cabinets, automotive components, duct valves, and washing machine casings. Currently, there’s a more advanced, scientifically designed technique called "rivet-free riveting," which, as the name suggests, allows two sheets to be directly joined together—eliminating the need for traditional rivets altogether.

The Working Principle and Features of Riveting Press Machines

Riveting Press It utilizes stamping equipment and specialized connecting molds, employing an instantaneous high-pressure processing technique to create stress-free, internally embedded points with specific tensile and shear strength capabilities. These points enable the secure connection of two or more layers of sheets made from different materials and varying thicknesses. The press-riveting machine has no specific requirements for the sheet surfaces, ensuring that the original coatings and paint layers at the connection points remain intact. The entire joining process boasts a high degree of automation, allowing simultaneous connections at one or multiple points. Additionally, non-destructive testing of connection strength can be performed, along with full-process automated monitoring, resulting in highly efficient production.

Rivet-free joining technology is an innovative connection method that is gradually replacing traditional back-to-back joining techniques, primarily due to the economic and technical limitations of current methods. Take spot welding as just one example: the equipment is expensive, driving up overall connection costs. Moreover, it’s particularly challenging to join multi-layer boards, galvanized sheets, or materials like aluminum, copper, and stainless steel—though it often fails entirely when attempting to connect painted panels, dissimilar-material combinations, plates with significant thickness variations, or laminated structures with intermediate layers. Additionally, spot welding damages the surface coating of the plates, potentially leading to thermal deformation. And during the connection process, any unreliable factors remain undetected—and thus unaddressed—without risking damage to the components themselves. Finally, using conventional joining methods can make individual connections prohibitively costly. For instance, in riveting or threaded fastening processes, the time spent on preparatory work, coupled with associated transportation and spare parts expenses, quickly adds up to substantial overhead costs.

How to ensure the riveting press remains in proper working condition

The riveting process performed by press riveting machines offers several distinct advantages, notably in terms of consistent quality, superior surface finish, enhanced production efficiency, and the ability to prevent deformation. Thanks to these outstanding benefits, there are various types of press riveting machines designed using this method. The two most common types are portable and stationary models. Riveting is typically categorized into two methods: impact riveting and static-pressure riveting. However, static pressure is the preferred approach for most applications, and within this method, there are two primary techniques: riveting with a pin and riveting without a pin.

Clamp Assembly Equipment: An Introduction to Metal Clamp Assembly Devices

Metal clamp assembly equipment in the automotive industry is primarily used for components such as engine intake manifold interfaces, exhaust pipe interfaces, and cooling intake pipe interfaces. This makes it relevant to both gasoline and diesel engines. 1. Passenger cars are mainly powered by gasoline engines. Applications include intercooler intake connections, coolant water connections, turbocharger end connections, exhaust system connections, and gasoline fuel line connections.
